Orchard Lake Philharmonic

Welcome to our 189th season of Orchard Lake Philharmonic

Rehearsals begin for our Autumn Reflections concert on September 10, 2026 at West Bloomfield Middle School band room. Music is fun, fast and rememberable. Hungarian March from Damnation of Faust, Pirate of the Caribbean, Quite City, Night on Bald Mountain and Tico Tico.

Our second concert is with Nardin Park United Methodist Church’s Chancel Choir and features a Christmas Canata. We will be performing this on a Saturday afternoon.

The February concert at Nardin Park UMC is just OLP. Musical Spring Gala will feature soloists Alicja Jahnke and Catherine Staples with Bach Concerto for Two Violins in d minor, An American in Paris Suite, Clair de Lune and Kalinnikov’s Symphony No 2 in A minor, the first movement.

In March, on Palm Sunday, the orchestra again performs with the Nardin Park Chancel Choir with an Easter Cantata.

Our last concerts are at St James is our Pops Concert – Movie Music Parade. We are performing nine pieces from the movies, Rocky Selections, A Tribute to Henry Mancini, Dances with Wolves, West Side Story, Adagio for Strings, Star Trek, the Motion Picture Main Theme, Disney Magic, Movie Spectacular and our favorite encore, Looney Tunes Overture.

OLP has gained many new members and is looking for only a few more musicians. We need two bassoonists who can perform in our Friday afternoon concerts, a master percussionist or two and a string bass player. Anyone else interested in joining OLP but play a different instrument than these can still send in a registration form and will be informed if there is a place for them during the year. We do have people not able to play all the concerts, therefore a space or two does open up during the year. Thank you to all our members who have made Orchard Lake Philharmonic the wonderful orchestra it is today.

Our concert schedule and music are on the website for your perusal. Please come and enjoy a wonderful season of music with OLP.
