Welcome to our 17th season of Orchard Lake Philharmonic. We have five concerts with nine performances this year at churches in Novi, Farmington Hills and Shelby Township. Rehearsals begin September 12, 2024, at Nardin Park UMC, 29877 Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills, and then will move to Orchard Lake Middle School, 6000 Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield. Our rehearsal schedule has all the dates and locations for our rehearsals and concerts. We have space for the following instruments in our current roster. Please complete a Registration Form to secure your place in our wonderful orchestra.
• Violins, Violas and Cello
• French horn
• Trumpet
• Bass Trombone
• Percussion
There is no audition or rehearsal fee to play with Orchard Lake Philharmonic. We are volunteers who like playing great music under the direction of Norm Logan. We also get to perform with Nardin Park United Methodist Church choir for their Christmas and Easter Concerts.
As there are two performances on one day for three of our concerts, we do request that the wind players and percussionists play all the concerts. Strings are not required to play both concerts, but we are hoping that they can. OLP is the only community orchestra in the area that performs two concerts on the same day (afternoon and evening). Senior housing organizations are able to bus their residents during the day for the afternoon concerts while their bus driver is on duty, thus allowing more people to attend our concerts. For the musicians, it’s an opportunity to mingle at our dinner in between the concerts and have that second opportunity you always wanted to be able to play everything.
